Songs about moon...

One of the late Teresa Teng's evergreen melodies...

Another one, but I like Faye Wong's rendition.

Loves me... Loves me not...

RANDOM thoughts when the heavens decided to weep on a Sunday afternoon...

It's easy to LIKE somebody... but it's an entire different story to LOVE somebody.

Yet, it's harder when you love somebody who doesn't love you the way you love him, i.e. you love him with the love of a LOVER and he loves you with the love of a FRIEND.

Guys are funny human beings. They MAY LIKE you but they MAY or MAY NOT LOVE you. They may drive you around for meals, they may talk to you about their ideas, problems, etc, but it DOES NOT NECESSARILY mean anything.

Sometimes, a guy & a gal may be compatible in a mutual way, but not all end up as couples. Oh well... What an irony.

And it's advisable to end all kinds of ambiguity, lest misunderstanding is created. E.g. What if another gal likes the guy but she saw that the guy is with another gal (and that gal is not his girlfriend). Then, she might think he's taken. Or, what if another guy likes the gal but he saw that the gal is with another guy (and that guy is not her boyfriend). Then, he might think she's taken. You know... all these what ifs... (*eyes rolling*)

And usually, it's the gal who suffers more than the guy. I don't understand why. Is it because gals are prone to fall in love more easily compared to guys? So, when she finally found out that actually he has never thought of bringing their so-called relationship to another level, it took her ages to come out from that hurt and heartache...

So, be wise. When the guy never says anything to prove the relationship between the two of you, it is 100% that he treats you as his FRIEND, not as his GIRLFRIEND.

That's why I'm still single.

May the Lord bless him that he may find his true love.

Mission accomplished: Protecting myself from getting hurt AGAIN...

Current mood: Defensive

The center of the Bible

I'm amused with what I read!

What is the shortest chapter in the Bible?
Psalm 117.

What is the longest chapter in the Bible?
Psalm 119.

Which chapter is the center of the Bible?
Psalm 118.

There are 594 chapters before Psalm 118.
There are 594 chapters after Psalm 118.
Add these numbers up and you get 1188.

What is the center verse of the Bible?
Psalm 118:8

Does this verse say something significant about God's perfect will for our lives?

The next time someone says they would like to find God's perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word!

Psalm 118:8
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." (NKJV)

Now isn't that odd how this worked out... or was God in the center of it?

When things get tough, always remember...

Faith doesn't get you around trouble, it gets you through it!

"When you relinquish the desire to control your future; you obtain happiness."

The little, little things in our life

The one who takes your hand but touches your heart is a true Friend.

We seldom think of what we have, but always think of what we miss.

Don't cry because it's over, laugh because it happened.

The more precisely you plan, the harder destiny will hit you.

What happens, happens for a reason.

Don't make an effort, because the best things happen when you least expect them.

The greatest events aren't the loudest, but the quietest hours.

The most difficult lesson to learn - Which bridge in lif
e to use or which one to break off.

Everybody sees how you seem to be, only some know who you are.

Perhaps God would want you to become acquainted with many different people in the course of your life, so that when you meet the right ones, you can appreciate and be grateful.

Love doesn't require two persons to look at each other, but that they look together in the same direction.

Plan for tomorrow, but live for today.

May we always have...
Air to breath
Fire to warm
Water to drink

The Earth to live in.

In life, there are moments when you miss someone so much that you would only fulfill your dreams by holding that person tight in your arms.

There are moments when someone is missed so much that it makes us long for them every day.

When a door of happiness is closed, another opens, we still continue to look at the closed door and not attach importance to that which have
just been opened for us.

Do not trust in appearances; they are often false.

Seek somebody who communicates with you in laughters because one laughter could turn a sad day into a joyful day.

Dream whatever you desire to dream; go wherever you wish; seek whatever you desire; be who you want to be.

Because life is unique by how you shape it. You only have one life to do what makes you happy.

The lucky ones inevitably do not have best of the best. They seek simply the best of what they see on their journey.

The most beautiful future will always depend on the need for forgetting the past. You will not be able to go from the past in life as long as you have not overcame the mistakes of the past and all that hurt you.

Live life in full and smile in spite of difficult times.

Never lose the opportunity to give sunshine to the day of a person who needs a few
encouraging words.

Life does not amount in breathings, but to the moments that take your breath away.

Life is beautiful.

May every moment of your life be filled with JOY!

Find on this wonderful quest of life...
Enough happiness to spread it around,
Enough road blocks to become stronger,
Enough sorrows to keep a good soul,
Enough wishes to be happy from within...

The happiest persons don't necessarily have everything, they simply utilizes all the potential in what life has to offer.

Happiness awaits...
...for all the tears...
...for the sufferers...
...for the one who searches...
...for the devoted ones...

...for the one who loves...

Because only people who care, can appreciate the importance of the things that leave traces in life.

Forget the pass, leave behind the mistakes and sorrows.

Love is born with a smile and grows with a kiss.

Treasure those...
...who mark your life.
...who make you laugh when you really needed somebody.
...who shower you with encouragement when you are down.
...who just passed by you.
...who look up to you for encouragement.
...who need you at their side.

Enjoy the Irony

Some light stuff for today: Why some women are still single?

1. The nice men are ugly.
2. The handsome men are not nice.
3. The handsome and nice men are gay.
4. The handsome, nice and heterosexual men are married.
5. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men, have no money.
6. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men with money think we are only after their money.
7. The handsome men without money are after our money.
8. The handsome men, who are not so nice and somewhat heterosexual, don't think we are beautiful enough.
9. The men who think we are beautiful, that are heterosexual, somewhat nice and have money, are cowards.
10. The men who are somewhat handsome, somewhat nice and have some money and thank God are heterosexual, are shy and NEVER MAKE THE FIRST MOVE!!!!
11. The men who never make the first move, automatically lose interest in us when we take the initiative.

NOW, WHO ON EARTH UNDERSTANDS MEN????

Men are like a fine wine. They all start out like grapes, and it's our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature into something you'd like to have dinner with.

Do we have ears to listen?

Currently, I'm reading a series of messages concerning The Slave of God. There are a couple of verses that really strike me.

Exo. 21:5-6, "But if the servant plainly says, I love my master, my wife, and children; I will not go out free. Then his master shall bring him to God and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost , and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him forever."

Isa. 50:4-5, "The Lord Jehovah has given me / The tongue of the instructed, / That I should know how to sustain the weary with a word. / He awakens me morning by morning; / He awakens my ear / To hear as an instructed one./ The Lord Jehovah has opened my ears; / And I was not rebellious, / Nor did I turn back."

Psa. 40:6, "You do not delight in sacrifice and offering; / You have prepared ears for Me; / You do not require burnt offering and sin offering."

1 Sam. 15:22, "And Samuel said, Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed, than the fat of rams."

First, we need to know what is our relationship with our Lord. There are many ways to speak of this: Father & child, Savior & sinner, Beloved & lover, Creator & creature, but we seldom acknowledge this: Master & slave. The concept of slavery (either physical or psychological) is not that prevailing in our society nowadays. Therefore, it is hard to really get into the feeling of being a slave.

However, we need to get the fact right. On one hand, although the Lord is our Master, He is also the Slave. The portions of the Scriptures listed above revealed that Jesus Christ is the Slave/Servant of Jehovah (God). On the other hand, the verses above also played a significant role in understanding our status as a slave whenever applied to our daily living.

The first & only thing that a slave does is to LISTEN to his master. The ears being bored through with an awl at the doorpost in Exo. 21:6 means that our eyes are opened to listen to the Lord's speaking, not to have our own concepts, desires, and intentions. In Isa. 50:4-5, we see that in order to have the tongue of an instructed one to sustain the weary ones with the word, our ears need to be opened to listen to His speaking. In Psa. 40:6, God is delighted whenever we prepare an ear to listen to Him. Then, 1 Sam. 15:22 warns us that the Lord demands our obedience more than what we do for Him

And I believe, the way that we could LISTEN to Him is by reading His word, the Bible because He speaks through His written word. The church pursuing materials are also a good source to avail ourselves to the speaking of the Lord so that we may listen to what He is speaking. Sometimes, the Lord speaks through the brothers and sisters during meetings. So, we can't skip meetings. (Haha... I'm trying to attend the home groups and Lord's Table more frequently).

Anyway, my point is: In the midst of our doing so many things, so-called serving the Lord, do we actually LISTEN to Him? Or do we generate our own ideas and fantasize over them as ways of serving Him? It's scary and abominable to so-called serve Him without knowing what He wants by listening to Him.

Lord, forgive me for my mistake.

Absurd but Accurate. What's the Logic?

YOUR AGE BY DINING & RESTAURANT MATH

This is pretty neat. It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read. Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things; it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat (more than once but less than 10).

2. Multiply this number by 2.

3. Add 5.

4. Multiply it by 50.

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1757. If you haven't, add 1756.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number.

The first digit of this was your original number (i.e. how many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week).

The next two numbers are....

YOUR AGE!

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2007) IT WILL EVER WORK.

I wonder how does this work. Hmmm...

Remarks: I received something similar to this last year (2006). So, I believe there must be some mathematical logic behind this.

Bear?

Friend Bear
You are everyone's ideal friend because you are sincere and genuinely kind. Sometimes you worry about your friends' problems so much, you forget about your own responsibilities, which can get you into trouble. For you, it's the little things that really count. You also happen to be the main driver of the Cloud Car. No speeding!

Just for fun again :)

Moon... moon... moon...

Since young, I love moonlit nights. I love to stare at the round, round moon. It's an enchanting experience. I love to watch the night clouds, floating slowly before the moon, casting shadows on the ground. I love the feeling of gentle breeze in my face as I lift my eyes to gaze afar.
I came across this cute poem. It's in Chinese/Mandarin.

明月光,亮堂堂,团团月,喜洋洋,
中秋夜,聚一堂,乐融融,月饼尝,
提灯笼,照弄堂,猜灯谜,合家欢,
品佳茗,暖胸膛,过中秋,共庆欢!

This language is beautiful. It's hard to translate these sentences into other languages effortlessly, flawlessly, and without altering the grace-and-feel of the original version. Thank God that I can converse, read, and write in this language without formal training. Haha! Lucky me!

Online Danger

I received the story below as a forwarded email. I believe it helps to remind us concerning the danger of revealing too much information to unknown "friends" whom we meet online occasionally.

The Story
After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab a snack and get on-line . She logged on under her screen name ByAngel213. She checked her Buddy List and saw GoTo123 was on. She sent him an instant message.

ByAngel213:
Hi. I'm glad you are on! I thought someone was following me home today. It was really weird!

GoTo123:
LOL You watch too much TV. Why would someone be following you? Don't you live in a safe neighborhood?

ByAngel213:
Of course I do. LOL I guess it was my imagination cuz' I didn't see anybody when I looked out.

GoTo123:
Unless you gave your name out on-line. You haven't done that have you?

ByAngel213:
Of course not. I'm not stupid you know.

GoTo123:
Did you have a softball game after school today?

ByAngel213:
Yes and we won!!

GoTo123:
That's great! Who did you play?

ByAngel213:
We played the Hornets. LOL. Their uniforms are so gross! They look like bees. LOL

GoTo123:
What is your team called?

ByAngel213:
We are the Canton Cats. We have tiger paws on our uniforms. They are really cool.

GoTo123:
Did you pitch?

ByAngel213:
No I play second base. I got to go. My homework has to be done before my parents get home. I don't want them mad at me. Bye!

GoTo123:
Catch you later. Bye

Meanwhile...... GoTo123 went to the member menu and began to search for her profile. When it came up, he highlighted it and printed it out. He took out a pen and began to write down what he knew about Angel so far.

Her name: Shannon
Birthday: Jan. 3, 1985
Age: 13
State where she lived: North Carolina

Hobbies: softball, chorus, skating and going to the mall.

Besides these information, he knew she lived in Canton because she had just told him. He knew she stayed by herself until 6:30 p.m. every afternoon until her parents came home from work. He knew she played softball on Thursday afternoons on the school team, and the team was named the Canton Cats. Her favorite number 7 was printed on her jersey. He knew she was in the eighth grade at the Canton Junior High School. She had told him all this in the conversations they had online. He had enough information to find her now.

Shannon didn't tell her parents about the incident on the way home from the ballpark that day. She didn't want them to make a scene and stop her from walking home from the softball games. Parents were always overreacting and hers were the worst. It made her wish she was not an only child. Maybe if she had brothers and sisters, her parents wouldn't be so overprotective.

By Thursday, Shannon had forgotten about the footsteps following her.

Her game was in full swing when suddenly she felt someone staring at her. It was then that the memory came back. She glanced up from her second base position to see a man watching her closely. He was leaning against the fence behind first base and he smiled when she looked at him. He didn't look scary and she quickly dismissed the sudden fear she had felt.

After the game, he sat on a bleacher while she talked to the coach. She noticed his smile once again as she walked past him. He nodded and she smiled back. He noticed her name on the back of her shirt. He knew he had found her.

Quietly, he walked a safe distance behind her. It was only a few blocks to Shannon's home, and once he saw where she lived he quickly returned to the park to get his car.

Now he had to wait. He decided to get a bite to eat until the time came to go to Shannon's house. He drove to a fast food restaurant and sat there until time to make his move.

Shannon was in her room later that evening when she heard voices in the living room.

"Shannon, come here," her father called. He sounded upset and she couldn't imagine why. She went into the room to see the man from the ballpark sitting on the sofa.

"Sit down," her father began, "this man has just told us a most interesting story about you."

Shannon sat back. How could he tell her parents anything? She had never seen him before today!

"Do you know who I am, Shannon?" the man asked.

"No," Shannon answered.

"I am a police officer and your online friend, GoTo123."

Shannon was stunned. "That's impossible! GoTo is a kid my age! He's 14. And he lives in Michigan!"

The man smiled. "I know I told you all that, but it wasn't true. You see, Shannon, there are people on-line who pretend to be kids; I was one of them. But while others do it to injure kids and hurt them, I belong to a group of parents who do it to protect kids from predators. I came here to find you to teach you how dangerous it is to talk to people on-line. You told me enough about yourself to make it easy for me to find you. You named the school you went to, the name of your ball team and the position you played. The number and name on your jersey just made finding you a breeze."

Shannon was stunned. "You mean you don't live in Michigan?"

He laughed. "No, I live in Raleigh. It made you feel safe to think I was so far away, didn't it?"

She nodded.

"I had a friend whose daughter was like you. Only she wasn't as lucky. The guy found her and murdered her while she was home alone. Kids are taught not to tell anyone when they are alone, yet they do it all the time on-line. The wrong people trick you into giving out information a little here and there on-line. Before you know it, you have told them enough for them to find you without even realizing you have done it. I hope you've learned a lesson from this and won't do it again. Tell others about this so they will be safe too?"

"It's a promise!"

That night Shannon and her Dad and Mom all knelt down together and thanked God for protecting Shannon from what could have been a tragic situation.

God's light vs man's firebrands

Today, I read a meaningful article. Here's the excerpt:

Compare Psalm 36:9 with Isaiah 50:11. We can see the great difference between the words "In Your light we see light" and "Indeed, all of you who kindle a fire, / Who surround yourselves with firebrands...." God's light enables man to see light, but the light that comes from man's firebrands is useless; it cannot give him light. The light that comes from man's firebrands originates from his own considerations and thoughts and is totally worthless. Isaiah 50:11 says that those who kindle a fire and surround themselves will lie down in torment. Spiritual darkness can never be removed by human firebrands. What we really need is God's light. Only God's light will give us true spiritual sight. Examining ourselves or engaging in introspection are acts that rely on human firebrands; they cannot render us any light.

We have to ask the Lord to deliver us daily so that we can live in God's light and discern the true nature of things. May the Lord deliver us from falsehood and obsession.

There is hope because God is Faithfulness

I read an article: Single Woman - Marriage Hope.

I don't know who wrote that article or when was it written. But upon reading it, I'm at peace :)

Why?

As normal human beings, we've to pass through a few phases in our life. In the Chinese culture, we call them: born (生), getting old (老), sick (病), die (死). I don't like the last three. I'm still passing through the first phase.

The first phase is as challenging as the rest. There are major events transpiring as we go through the first phase in our life. Each event is a turning point. We couldn't afford to make the wrong turn. There's no turning back once a choice is made.

The first major event that I experience is being born again by believing and receiving the Lord Jesus as my Savior, Redeemer, Lord, Friend, Father, etc. Hallelujah! I'm a sinner saved by grace, enjoying grace, and living by grace (ummm... not a pro, I'm learning to take grace).

Then, of course, life goes on... I've passed through the phase of formal/secular education, obtaining a bachelor's degree (Hons.)

I've passed through the grounding stage of spiritual education by joining the two-year fulltime training and learnt to serve as a fulltime church worker for a short period of time.

And I believe, the Lord is watching, guiding, and leading every step as I go through these phases, one by one because life is challenging without the Lord.

Sometimes, I blamed Him. Sometimes, I hold grudges against Him. I asked Him, "Why me?" My father's sudden farewell is another major event. But the Father knows best.

Another major turn. Now, I'm working fulltime in the world. May be I'm experiencing what Peter had experienced before. Or may be the Lord is granting me experiences of Paul who made tents to support himself when there is the need.

Now, I understand the life of an ordinary, working believer. I understand the attraction of the world and the harshness of Pharaoh.

So, two more major events are pending: marriage, family life with a husband and kids. And may be some unforeseen events.

That's why I feel at peace. It's all explained in the article. It's normal to go through these phases. I'm not being foolish.

More importantly, I have the Lord's word.

Radio Ad: Heart-warming

I listen to mix.fm every morning on my way to the office. One morning, a radio ad about DiGi Postpaid from DiGi Telecommunications caught my attention.

It goes like this...

Son: Daddy, why did you call me so many times a day?
Father: Because it's free, darling.

Son: Daddy, why did you SMS "gor gor" so many times a day?
Father: Because it's free, sweetheart.

Son: Daddy, why did you MMS mummy flowers so many times a day?
Father: Because it's free, precious.

Then, the ad goes on with the benefit of DiGi Postpaid....

Son: Daddy, why don't you buy mummy some real flowers?
Father: Because it's fr.. Go do your homework.

~The End~

I tried to remember the exact version, so it isn't 100% accurate (word by word). In case of discrepancy, tune in to any radio station, of course in Malaysia, to listen to the ad.

Have a nice day!

Grace my days with hymns...

To some extent, I enjoy classical hymns compared to contemporary Christian songs (either pop or rock). Alternatively, I'm quite OK with some new hymns with a slight tinge of contemporary flavor.

Log on to Hymnal.net

Examples of classical hymns that I love:
Just As I Am

Down from His Glory

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Examples of a new hymns, which are slightly contemporary:
My God, My Portion
(View full lyrics)

Love with Everlasting Love
(View full lyrics)

To You, Dear Lord
(View full lyrics)

O Glorious, Divine Love
(View full lyrics)

There are many more...

To me, hymns are one of the sources to draw us closer to our Lord Jesus. Such hymns won't draw us into the enjoyment of the soul merely. If I end up merely enjoying the song's tune, then I miss the mark of using that song/hymn to draw near to Jesus. That's how I feel.

I Scored an A

You Scored an A

You got 10/10 questions correct.

It's pretty obvious that you don't make basic grammatical errors.
If anything, you're annoyed when people make simple mistakes on their blogs.
As far as people with bad grammar go, you know they're only human.
And it's humanity and its current condition that truly disturb you sometimes.

Hmmm... Quite true also.

But... if by chance and somehow you do come across grammar/spelling mistakes in my blog, be sure that they ARE typo errors (*wink*).

In Memory of Nurin Jazlin

Following this case closely reduces me to tears. Nurin was just a little girl. She hasn't even reach her puberty. The brutality of the act of murder is beyond what words. Oh my... She is just a kid. A fragile and helpless kid.

What kind of monster is within the molester-cum-murderer? If this idiot is a woman, it'd truly be the most shameful thing that could ever happen to mankind. Well, this is my opinion. Anyone has the right to agree or disagree with this view.

It's indeed baffling. No one, as long as sanity still rules, will ever commit such a horrendous crime that ended another young and innocent life in such a horrible way. No one, as long as he/she fears God, will ever, or I should say, has the right to take away the life of another human being. This person, I believe, is either demon-possessed or he/she is psychologically sick.

My deepest condolence to Nurin's family members.

Dear fellow Malaysians, I believe in educating the younger generation since young against distorted behaviors. Killers with sadistic instincts usually develop murderous traits from their childhood. (Note: I don't have the time to link to supporting articles.)

Let us take care of our young ones' spiritual, moral, and physical education, lest they grow up imbalanced and become a deficit to our society.

"Malaysia Boleh" shouldn't be just an empty slogan. Malaysia must be 'Boleh' in the labor to cultivate an excellent, glorious, and eminent nation (bangsa cemerlang, gemilang, terbilang). I'll never forget that.

Update: So sad... She is Nurin.

In memory of Nurin Jazlin Jazimin.

I'm sorry...

Randomized feelings...

Mood mode: Melancholic

I just want to say, "I'm sorry..."
I lied when I say, "It's not because of you."

Because...

"It is."

I don't want to hurt you.
Let me be hurt than to hurt.
Stupid, huh?

Why am I doing this?
I have no idea.
Or, may be I've some idea.
I think I've.

*What is it?* ~ Whisper

Silence. Can't tell.

But I should have known.
It's not meant to be...
The way that I hoped it would be.

Unrecipocrated.

Sigh...

It hurts to hold on.
It hurts to let go.
My heart aches!

Defended?
Or, defeated?

So obvious.

God will provide?

Really?

I believe I could only...

Wait by FAITH.

Because God is good at being GOD. He's my FATHER. He knows what is BEST for me.

I believe...

Try this: Borscht (Vegetable Soup)

One of the dishes that caught my attention during my first lunch in Russia was a kind of vegetable soup called Borscht. The soup is purplish-red in color due to beetroot. I doubt we can find beetroot in Malaysia.

Errrr... The answer is yes, because I found beetroot-related recipes in one of the Malaysian food websites. Well... That's good!

In fact, this is a very healthy soup, not fattening (as long as the amount of sour cream is reduced), and is very refreshing. I was hooked to this soup and lunch time was a bliss whenever it was served.

If I can get hold of beetroots... then, I'll try out this simple recipe:

What to Prepare?
225g cooked beetroot, peeled and cut into strips
350g white cabbage, shredded
350g potatoes, peeled and diced
350g finely chopped carrots
1/2 stalk celery, chopped
1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 teaspoon of caraway seeds
1 liter of chicken or vegetable stock
1 tablespoon of vinegar, salt and freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup of minced fresh dill
Some sour cream (optional, for garnish)

How?
1. Bring stock, vinegar and beetroot to the boil and let it simmer gently for 20-30 minutes.

When I Say I'm a Christian

This is a very good Christian poem. Found it somewhere...

When I say I am a Christian

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
so I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's Grace, somehow!!

This is so sweet...
(Note: Although I don't know who's the author, I appreciate him/her for this inspiring poem.)

Think like a cat...

Voilà

Result: You Connect With Your Cat! (Haha...) Well done! You know your cat better than most. Keep at it and you will learn to think like a cat in no time at all.

Question 1
Your cat affectionately rubs his head against your face. This behavior is called?
Answer: Bunting.
Explanation:
Bunting is a gesture of family acceptance and love. Your cat will rub along your chin and nose, engaging in the bunting behavior that began as a kitten when he'd rub around his mother's head seeking to nurse. The next time your cat seems to butt you in the face with the top of his head, don't get irritated realize the loving compliment he just paid you.

Question 2
Your cat is crouched low to the ground, pupils dilated, ears flattened, hissing and growling. Although the body is facing sideways (ready for retreat), the head and front paws are facing the forward. Your cat is exhibiting?
Answer: Fear aggression.
Explanation:
This position says that his body and hind feet are ready for retreat, but his head and front paws are ready to defend himself. Fear aggression is a conflicting emotion for a cat, because he doesn't want to be where he is, but he'll fight if necessary. This is a cat who needs to be left alone. A cat who is terrified isn't thinking clearly and will view any attempts at comfort as a threat.

Question 3
Your cat trots past his new scratching post and proceeds to sink his claws into your couch. Your cat is rejecting the post because?
Answer: It is covered in the wrong material and the post is not tall enough.
Explanation:
A scratching post must be covered in the right material, be sturdy and well constructed as well as tall enough for a full stretch. You can't go wrong if the covered material is sisal. Rough texture is very appealing to a cat. Remember, scratching is a natural, normal and healthy behavior.

Question 4
Your cat is looking out the window when a strange cat walks into the yard. As you approach your cat to investigate, he lashes out. Your cat is exhibiting?
Answer: Redirected aggression.
Explanation:
You have been a victim of redirected aggression. You weren't the intended target of his aggression but in such an excited state, he vents on the nearest victim when he can't get to the primary cause. To remedy this, leave your cat alone until he has calmed down. Block your cat's access to the window and do your best to keep strange cats out of the yard.

Question 5
When your cat flicks his upright tail at you, it is meant to convey?
Answer: Greetings
Explanation:
When standing or walking, an upright tail that is flicked at your recognition is usually meant as a greeting. In most cases, the message he's sending is, "Hi, I've missed you." The tail, which is part of the spine, is used for balance and serves an important role in feline communication.

Question 6
You walk by the bed, and suddenly your feet are ambushed by a set of teeth and 10 sharp claws. Your cat is exhibiting?
Answer: Play aggression
Explanation:
This is a hit-and-run attack of play aggression. This type of behavior is a result of a cat that isn't getting enough playtime, so he has to go for whatever moving targets he can find. To correct this behavior, use interactive toys and play with each cat at least two or three times a day, for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Question 7
Your cat's whiskers are forward facing and spread out. This indicates?
Answer: Alertness
Explanation: Whiskers that are forward facing and spread out usually indicate that the cat is alert and ready for action. Whiskers are used as a sensory device, relaying information to the brain, as well as helping to play an important role in feline communication. Whiskers are located on the upper lip, cheeks, above the eyes, and on the forelegs.

Question 8
Your cat is on your lap enjoying your affection when, without warning, he bites your hand. Your cat is exhibiting?
Answer: Overstimulation
Explanation: From your point of view, your cat attacked without warning. That is where the communication breakdown occurred, because he did give you advanced warning, you just did not see it. The signs that an owner often misses include tail lashing or thumping, skin twitching and a shifting of the body position. Next time, try to be more aware of your cat's body language, so you can avoid overstimulation.

Question 9
During a catfight, one cat rolls onto his back exposing his belly. This is a sign of?
Answer: Aggression
Explanation: A cat on his back, exposing his underside is not being submissive. Rather, he is preparing for battle. Rolling onto his back, he can then make full use of his natural weapons by exposing his claws on all four feet as well as using his teeth. This is his ultimate defensive-aggressive posture.

Question 10
Your contented cat makes eye contact, opens his mouth as if to meow but no sound comes out. This is an example of?
Answer: The silent meow
Explanation: The silent meow is exactly that, silent. It seems to be the visual version of the meow. Needless to say, the endearing effect of the silent meow usually causes the recipient to become putty in the paws. The gesture's purpose in cat-to-cat communication is still a mystery.

It ain't always what we think it is...

Follow the story line... Isn't this a reflection of what we are doing?

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
There will always be sunshine, after the rain...
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall,
But God's always ready, to answer your call...
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
A word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, in dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
To give you His grace, and send you His love...
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
"God always sends rainbows, after the rain..."

To get out of difficulty, one must usually go through it!
God never gives you more than you can bear.
So, bear it willingly and you will rejoice in your rewards!

AMEN!
