The Buah Cermai Story

I've neither seen nor heard of buah cermai. Last weekend in Terengganu, I had an impromptu and fun cermai-picking time with Cheryl and Joanne at the backyard of their grandparents' house. David's mom told me that buah cermai can be made into jeruk. I became really excited and "bounced" to the backyard with the girls. :P

We "harvested" most of the ripe fruits from the buah cermai tree.

Then, the fruits were mixed with salt for a few hours.

Finally, they were soaked in syrup and kept cold in the fridge. And that's our jeruk buah cermai. Joanne and I had a jar each that we took back to KL with us. Can't wait to eat them. :D
