7 Eye-Opening Japanese Concepts That Will Transform Your Life

#1 - Ikigai

Discover your purpose in life.

Determine the reason you wake up each morning.

Choose something that aligns with your strengths, passions, and the needs of the world.

This is what gives life meaning.

#2 - Shikita ga nai

Let go of what you cannot change.

Recognize that some things are just out of our control, and that's okay.

Let go and focus on what you can change.

#3 - Wabi-sabi

Find peace in imperfection.

Recognize that nothing in life is perfect, including yourself and others.

Instead of striving for flawlessness, find joy in the imperfections that make life unique.

#4 - Gaman

Preserve your dignity during tough times.

Show emotional maturity and self-control, even when faced with challenges.

Remember to be patient, resilient, and understanding.

#5 - Oubaitori

Don't compare yourself to others.

Everyone has a different timeline and unique path.

It's important to focus on your own progress, rather than trying to measure yourself against others.

#6 - Kaizen

Always seek to improve in all areas of your life.

Even small changes can add up and make a big impact over time.

#7 - Shu-Ha-Ri

"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready, the teacher will disappear." - Tao Te Ching

It is a way of thinking about how to learn and master a technique. There are 3 stages to acquiring knowledge:

Shu: Learn the basics by following the teaching of one master, imitating the work of great masters also falls in this stage.

Ha: Start experimenting, learn from masters, and integrate the learning into practice.

Ri: This stage focuses on innovation and the ability to apply your learning to a variety of situations.

My Experience with SUKKIRi Mesh Ring Sling

I start to use this wrap when my newborn turns four weeks old. I love how breathable the material is when I wrap my newborn, especially on hot days.

Take a look at the breathable mesh material. It's comfortable at the shoulder too.

My baby loves to cuddle up in the ring sling. Look how comfy he is!

You see the knot at where the rings are supposed to be? To provide extra grip, I wrap the ring sling tail around the rings. At the same time, it also acts like a little pillow for my baby to put his head when he's napping in the ring sling.

Another view.

Going for a walk with baby napping comfortably in this trusty ring sling.

Trust me, babywearing is so easy with this ring sling!

Look at that little bum!

Let's reiterate the benefits of babywearing.

#1: Carried babies cry less because they are happy!

#2: Babies who are carried often are healthier because by being attached to his mother, he's in tune with the rhythm of her breathing, the sound of her heartbeat, and the movements his mother makes—walking, bending, and reaching.

#3: Comfort and convenience!

The Power Mesh material of this wrap is very stretchable, breathable, and cooling; so it's perfect for our weather.

On a side note, if you're not familiar with the benefits of babywearing and the importance of ergonomic baby carriers , do read up my blog post about 4 points to consider when you decide to babywear.

What is so unique about PITTARi Wrap?

#1 - Compact and easy to keep & carry around

The PITTARi Wrap comes with a waist belt and storage pouch. Unlike conventional woven wraps and stretchy wraps, PITTARi has less fabric due to its innovative waist belt, thus making it shorter and easier to wrap your baby. After unwrapping your baby, the fabric can be rolled up and stored in the attached storage pouch at the waist belt, making it compact, neat, and easier to keep and carry around.

PITTARi Wrap = "Baby Wrap" + "Waist Belt" + "Storage Pouch"

#2 - Breathable material suitable for our weather

The PITTARi Wrap is made with Power Mesh material, so it's very stretchable for secure and safe bonding with your baby. This material is also thin, light, and breathable with a cooling sensation, thus it's suitable for our weather.

#3 - "Hip-healthy"

The PITTARi Wrap is acknowledged as a "hip-healthy" product by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
How to use PITTARi Wrap?

Watch this product video below:

My Experience with PITTARi Wrap

I start to use this wrap when my newborn turns four weeks old. I love how soft and cooling the material is when I wrap my newborn.

You can see how he sleeps comfortably in fetal position in the wrap, perhaps being reminded of the womb. This is benefit #1 of babywearing, i.e. carried babies cry less because they are happy! Benefit #2 is that babies who are carried often are healthier because by being attached to his mother, he's in tune with the rhythm of her breathing, the sound of her heartbeat, and the movements his mother makes—walking, bending, and reaching.

To go hands-free while attending to two kids and other matters at home, putting the baby in the wrap is the best solution. And this is benefit #3 of babywearing, i.e. comfort and convenience!

Here's a bum shot (babywearing lingo) with legs in (optimal position for newborns).

And here's another bum shot, this time with legs out (optimal position for babies more than three months old).

This is how the back looks like.

I can join buffet lunch crowd, hassle-free and without worries!

And I can also have breakfast and my cuppa teh tarik with baby comfortably sleeping in the wrap. Sleepy dust (babwearing lingo) is in abundance with this deliciously comfy wrap!

So, what's so special about these kimono rompers? Let me tell you.

Baby Kimono Rompers by Haha no yume 母の夢

  • They are the brainchild of three passionate moms/founders of Haha no yume 母の夢. I haven't seen anything like this anywhere online.

  • They are made from 100% fully imported Japanese cotton, perfect for our weather.

  • They are inspired by traditional Japanese Kimono that are known for their simple wrap style and come with easy-to-use snap buttons for quick nappy changes.

  • Their concept is inspired by wabi-sabi わびさび – pure minimalism and rustic simplicity with understated elegance.

  • They are just too irresistible! Babies will look so adorable wearing them. And I guess, their smitten parents will take photos non-stop. LOL. Having said that, they are perfect for photoshoots. Agree? ;)

  • When you receive the parcel that contains the kimono romper, your heart flutters. They are just so beautiful! And yes, a great idea for baby shower, even wedding gifts!

  • Oh, and you can register as a member at www.hahanoyume.com to enjoy 10% off your purchase with them (correct at published time, please check their website or Facebook page for latest updates).

And..... that sums up why these kimono rompers are so special. I rest my case. Really, you should take a look at their minimalist, simple, elegant designs. Get ready to be smitten and your wallet ready. ;)

My boy's first kimono romper

Unboxing!

The elegant box is tied with a lovely blue ribbon.

Thanks for this lovely congratulatory card!

The romper is wrapped in a lovely baby blue paper.

Tada!

My little model!

My boy likes the kimono romper very much. The simple wrap style is very straight forward and easy to tie. The material is very pretty with lots of intricate Japanese emblems. The snap buttons at the bottom of the romper are sturdy, so babies with curious fingers won't be able to snap them apart easily.

It's also great as a "dance costume"! :D

Oh, forgot to mention. He's wearing Mon. Mon (紋) are Japanese emblems used to decorate and identify an individual or family. Most consistent of a roundel encircling a figure of plant, animal, man-made, natural or celestial objects, all abstracted to various degrees.
