Two months ago:

Date: 20 January 2012, Friday
Time: Between 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Venue: Most likely at the open car park beside HSBC at Damansara Uptown

Damage: RIGHT rear bumper has multiple scratch lines caused by an inconsiderate or perhaps stupid driver.

It's not my fault. I didn't do anything wrong to deserve such unfortunate treatment. :(

Should I repaint the entire bumper?

Project: Reflect 52 #3 - The first major scratch

My heart bled. My poor WUQkie (my car) got its virgin major scratch. That bloody scratch was so ugly that I felt so bad. But, it wasn't my fault.

WUQkie was parked nicely in its own parking spot and I was pretty sure that it didn't obstruct anyone's way. But somehow, an unknown inconsiderate and perhaps stupid driver decided to give my car this sort of harsh "treatment".

Anyway, it's Chinese New Year eve today and I don't feel like cursing anyone. So let's just put stupid things aside.

Have a blessed reunion dinner with your family members. Let's eat, drink, and be merry!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Throttle-clean

So proud of David! He "dislodged" and cleaned the throttle body of his Savvy and Andrea's Savvy by using kerosene, a toothbrush, a piece of cloth, and water. The bottom right corner of the image shows how the throttle body looks like.

According to Wikipedia, in fuel injected engines, the throttle body is the part of the air intake system that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine, in response to driver accelerator pedal input. The throttle body is usually located between the air filter box and the intake manifold, and it is usually attached to, or near, the mass airflow sensor.

Saga_flx

We were at the Proton showroon at SS14, Subang Jaya this morning. I was so excited to see the new Saga FLX that comes with CVT for a smoother drive!

CVT is Continuously Variable Transmission that uses a belt rather than fixed gears to turn engine torque into power. This translates into silky smooth gearshifts. It also means better fuel economy, less wear and tear on your engine and eco-friendly emissions.

The gear level has an extra switch called the SAT (Stepped Automatic Transmission) switch that stimulates the feel of a standard 6-speed automatic transmission. Photo here.

ABS with EBD is in place for the FLX 1.3 Executive. ABS = Anti-lock Braking System. EBD = Electronic Breakforce Distribution. In short, it means better safety. Photo here.

Press release from Proton: Best-selling SAGA Now Even Better. New PROTON SAGA FLX 1.3L to Provide Greater Fuel Efficiency with CVT

Lemon

My car, WUQkie has a new friend called Lemon. Lemon is a vial of car air freshener. I love its fresh lemon fragrance that reminds me of lemon-flavored Shandy. Lemon will accompany Flower (the flower-shaped rubber air freshener) for as long as they stay in WUQkie. :D

Saga FL is handsome!

I love the headlights of the Saga FL. They reflect agility, masculinity, and confidence on the road. Awesome, right?

By the way, FL stands for
FaceLift. Saga FL, launched in December 2010, is the facelift version of the New Saga M-Line. My car, affectionately named WUQkie, is a Blueberry Tea Saga M-Line, bought end of November 2010.

Well, why didn't I wait for the Saga FL to be launched? Well, a difference of RM2K was a lot. And when I bought WUQkie, I had a promotional rebate of RM2K. So, if I were to get the FL in December 2010, I would need to fork out another RM4K. In the end, I chose my dear dark purple car. :)

I love WUQkie's dark purple shade but I also like the Saga FL's fierce-looking headlights. By comparing the two, you can see that it's quite impossible to upgrade WUQkie's headlights to the FL headlights.

Well, I don't think I should spend on changing headlights even if it's doable at this point of time. Perhaps next time. :D

Proton Tuah, Proton Jebat, Proton Lekir, Proton Lekiu, Proton Kasturi

At the recent Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2010 at Putra World Trade Center (PWTC), which is ending this coming Sunday (12 December), I'm pretty much impressed by Proton's range of concept cars, especially the Pahlawan series - Tuah, Jebat, Lekir, Lekiu, and Kasturi.

Proton Tuah
The Proton Tuah is a sedan inspired by nautical and aeronautical designs with a balance of function and aesthetics and is said to be the Proton Persona's replacement model.

Proton Jebat
The Proton Jebat is a fierce and aggressive looking car that resembles the Proton Inspira, the re-badged Lancer. Inspired by the enthusiasm of aggressive racing, it's said to bring the Inspira to the next level of performance-oriented status.

Proton Lekir
The Proton Lekir is essentially a re-badged Lotus Europa. It is meant to be a dynamic performance sports car. Interesting!

Proton Lekiu
The Proton Lekiu is a concept crossover model. It resembles the Proton Exora, an SUV.

Proton Kasturi
The Proton Kasturi is actually a facelifted Proton Saga, being inspired by the idea to uplift the Saga brand value. Compared to the Proton Saga SE, the Proton Kasturi is more sporty with body kits.

Looks like Proton is making a huge comeback in Malaysia! Bravo!

David and I went to the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2010 at Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) today. I won two tickets from Toyota Malaysia when I joined their "Tweet Me to KLIMS" contest.

Proton, with this enticing tagline - Uniting People with Technology, showcases a number of interesting cars. Among them are the Tuah, Jebat, Lekir, Lekiu, and Kasturi series. The Proton Emas is also showcased, along with other concept cars.

The photos here are that of Tuah, a sporty saloon, inspired by nautical and aeronautical designs with a balance of function and aesthetics.

My WUQkie

WUQkie, a Blueberry Tea Proton Saga. WUQkie comes from the word Wookie, one of the characters in Star Wars. WUQ comes from the car's number plate. :)

WUQkie was registered on 25 November 2010 and I drove it back from Proton's Center of Excellence on 27 November 2010.

I like this rubber air freshener. Such a cute little flower. Thanks David! :)

So, another item is now removed from my wishlist.
