Movie: Iron Sky (2012)

We Come In Peace

Iron Sky (2012) is a Finnish-German-English sci-fi action comedy movie.

Synopsis: Before the end of World War II in the 1940s, a group of German Nazi soldiers fled to space and resided at the dark side of the Moon. It's now the year 2018 and the President of the United States (Stephanie Paul) has sent two men to the moon as a publicity stint for her re-election. One of the astronauts is an African American male model named James Washington (Christopher Kirby). He is captured by the Nazis on the moon, led by Führer Kortzfleisch (Udo Kier) and his ambitious commander, Klaus Adler (Götz Otto). Adler goes to Earth with his fiancé Renate Richter (Julia Dietze) and they join forces with the President's manipulative aide, Vivian Wagner (Peta Sergeant), who uses them to campaign for the President's re-election without realizing their mission to invade the Earth.

One word: BIZARRE! You will either like or loathe this movie because it's full of parodies and a lot of fun-poking at historical and international facts and figures.

I like this movie despite so many negative reviews out there. The idea behind the storyline is unique and entertaining - moon Nazis with one mission, i.e. invade the Earth - just like in history, the Nazis invaded Europe during World War II.

And, it's a comedy, so really, there's plenty of dumb humor and comic relief, just don't take it too seriously. Follow through the movie and have a good laugh for 1.5 hours.

FORK's RockCappella at PJ Live Arts, the Rock Concert with great Finnish!

Last Saturday night, after "securing" our Oktoberfest 2012 limited edition 1L Tiger mug at Malones @ Jaya One, the hubby surprised me with two tickets to FORK's RockCappella at PJ Live Arts! :D

So unusual, they create a new genre!

More than a rock concert... this is a truly unique mix; up-to-the-fingernails-styled aesthetic and a visual musical experience. Or as VocalAustralia enthused when reviewing their sell-out concert at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, "their performance [is]... complete with brilliant comedic timing and choreography"!

This is a capella re-invented, world class entertainment, groundbreaking sounds, comic talent and extravagant fashion! Extremely well-known in Finland (find a Finn, any Finn, and ask them!!), the quartet (plus Grégory Maisse, their behind-the-scenes, fearless French audio wizard) is famous for their magnificent shows which fearlessly combine the various forms of stage art; music, theater, dance and light show which captures a humorous, yet elegant show experience. The group also throws in a good dose of love and self irony – leaving it up to the audience to work out exactly where the line between love and irony lives, and who's laughing at whom…

The rock concert with great Finnish!

The four singers in FORK all embody the stage presence of Rock Gods complete with brilliant comedic timing and energetic choreography.
Vocal Australia

World class singing. Groundbreaking sounds. Comic talent.
Extravagant fashion. No instruments.

Don't miss it...
Edinburgh Fringe Review

Flawless vocals, this daft show is by turns hilarious and breathtaking!

My new crazes: Bayonetta & Within Temptation

I'm getting more and more gothic and I like it.

I attended a colleague's wedding with zero realization that I'm "decorated" with a set of smoky pink-purple make-up plus hairdo resembling Bayonetta. XD

Cosplay prospects maybe? Bayonetta looks sizzlingly a$$-kicking! LOL.

Also, I'm totally in love with Within Temptation - a Gothic Metal, Symphonic Metal / Rock Dutch band. Nightwish
, another band from Finland of the same music genre still topped my list of favorite bands. :)

Here are 2 of my favorite songs from Within Temptation's "The Silent Force", of which I considered, their best album.

Nightwish Craze

Currently, I'm loving songs by Nightwish.

Here's "Nemo", my favorite song from the album "Once" (2004-2005) with former vocalist, Tarja Turunen.

Here's "Amaranth", my favorite song from the album "Night Passion Play" (2006-2007) with current vocalist, Anette Olzon.
