How to Achieve at Work with Positive Affirmations

A few years into this new normal and we're all still trying to get the hang of it. Not only have our personal lives changed but many of us have had our work lives change drastically. Women were especially impacted, whether because they were more likely to work in sectors heavily affected by the pandemic or because the burden of childcare during school closures fell on them.

 

With change and uncertainty comes stress. Finding ways to manage that stress, especially while at work, has become a daily goal.

 

Self-affirmations are a great way to lift our personal lives, boost confidence, and manage stress. But it doesn't stop there. Self-affirmations can also be used to increase satisfaction at work. Self-care and finding the positive in things is the thing right now, and this is certainly a trend to be a part of.

What are Self-Affirmations?

 

Self-affirmations are positive statements and reminders to improve your mindset. Your thoughts play a big role when it comes to your overall mood, happiness, and productivity. Releasing negative thoughts from your mind, and pumping good thoughts will encourage and motivate yourself.

 

How to Use Self-Affirmations

 

Writing out your affirmations and saying them out loud is the perfect way to get your daily dose of positivity. Use them in any situation where you'd like to see a positive exchange take place.

 

Grab your favorite notebook and set aside a dedicated time to say them. For example, choose two affirmations to focus on throughout the day. One in the morning when you begin your work for the day and the second one for when you're clocking out, to leave on a high note. Even if throughout the day you need to boost your productivity, formulate an affirmation that will keep you going.  Positive affirmations are most effective when spoken out loud or written down.

 

 

 

Here are some tips when it comes to formatting your affirmations.

  • Have a positive tone throughout affirmations.
  • Begin your statements with I or I am.
  • Make affirmations clear, concise, and easy to remember.
  • Intentional affirmations that resonate with you.

1. Personal Growth Affirmations

 

Personal growth in the workspace essentially allows you to produce better results and to achieve any goals you had set for yourself. Try some of these daily affirmations to focus on your positive development.

  • I attract what I need.



2. Anxiety Affirmations

 

Anxiety tends to creep up on many women. Create affirmations to help you keep a positive mindset in situations that make you anxious.

  • If I keep trying, it will get easier.
  • I will be OK.
  • I choose to focus on positive thoughts.

 



 

3. Self-Esteem Affirmations

 

If self-esteem has been something you are working on, these affirmations are for you. As women, we have to believe that we are confident and brilliant to advance in every aspect of life. Have you ever come across someone who has sticky notes all over their mirror? With self-esteem affirmations, this is the perfect time to try it out.

  • I recognize my potential and won’t let others block my path.

  • I have the power to change my situation.

Ultimate Fluffy Pancakes

 

I found a simple, fool-proof recipe that yields the ultimate fluffy pancakes 🥞 everyone will love.


Ingredients:


☑️ 3/4 cup milk
☑️ 1 tbsp white vinegar (I use Bragg's apple cider vinegar)
☑️ 1 cup all purpose flour
☑️ 1/2 tsp salt
☑️ 1 tsp baking powder
☑️ 1/2 tsp baking soda
☑️ 2 tbsp sugar
☑️ 1 egg
☑️ 2 tbsp melted butter
☑️ Cooking spray or butter for greasing the frying pan



How to:


1. Combine milk and vinegar in a large bowl and let stand for about five minutes to let the mixture become sour.


2. Combine dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda) in another bowl.


3. Add in the egg and melted butter into the milk-vinegar mixture and gently whisk.


4. Combine the liquid ingredients into the flour mixture gradually until a smooth batter is achieved.


5. Heat a medium pan over medium heat and grease with cooking spray or butter. Using a soup ladle, spoon about 1/4 cup of batter into the pan. Once bubbly on top, flip the pancake gently using a flat cooking spatula. This takes about a minute or two. Cook other side for another minutes or less, or until that side  is golden brown.


6. Top with a dollop of butter. Serve while hot.
