Movie: Brave (2012)

Change your fate.

Brave (2012) is Pixar-Disney's latest fantasy-adventure animated movie.

Synopsis: A young and feisty Scottish princess, Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald) is disappointed that her life is controlled by her dominant mother Queen Elinor (voice by Emma Thompson). In a determined effort to change her fate and make her own path in life, she makes a huge mistake when she asks for a spell from a witch. Now she must rely on her bravery and archery skills to set things right again.

Heartwarming and educational - that's how I feel. It educates daughters not to "curse" their mothers, and mothers, not to control their daughters too much. It's all about the mother-daughter bond and relationship, sort of like a gentle reminder to all mothers and daughters to improve their communication before things go awry.

Overall, this movie offers much fun and humor. Some characters are really lovable, especially Merida's triplet brothers - Harris, Hubert, and Hamish.

And I will never ever forget Merida's hair. She really has one heck of a head of red hair that so clearly defines her feisty temperament. Director Mark Andrews says, "Merida had to have the wildest hair we could imagine. She's a wild spirit. She wields that curly hair in confidence. It's her identity."

If you're a Pixar-Disney fan, don't miss this movie.
