Movie: The Crazies (2010)

Fear Thy Neighbor

The Crazies (2010) is a remake of George Romero's 1973 horror movie of the same name.

The movie's plot is very straightforward. Here's a mini synopsis: An infection runs in a small rural town, town population become sick, the military carries out extermination process, healthy protagonists run for their lives, some died, some survived. :)

Here's a full synopsis: A toxin turns the previously friendly residents of a small rural town, Ogden Marsh in Iowa into violent killers after a plane crashes into the town's water supply and contaminates it. Sheriff David Dutton and his wife, Doctor Judy Dutton, and two other unaffected residents, David's deputy, Russell and Judy's nurse, Becca are on their on own to survive this deadly ordeal.

This movie genre, sort of like a semi-doomsday thriller is not something new. However, "The Crazies" does have its moments of horror, tension, and suspense. Infected people have ugly veins crisscrossing their faces and they run all over town killing one another, like zombies.

Overall, I'd say that this is a moderate movie, not to say very outstanding but it has enough scare points to score. Catch it on DVD if you must. :)
