Won Korean Dining @ Level 2, Eat Paradise, Isetan, 1-Utama

Won Korean Dining's menu has a catchy tagline and explanation.

Korean Food is Healthy

Koreans often say that food is like medicine and that the body and the earth are one.

As usual, in Korean dining, you can't run away from Dolsot Bibimbab, Jigae, and soups especially Galbitang (Beef Ribs Soup) and Samgyetang (Chicken Soup with Ginseng).

Jeyook Dolsot Bibimbab

This is a rice dish mixed with spicy stir-fried pork and vegetables in hot stone pot.

If you dine frequently at Korean restaurants, bibimbab is a common dish. The rice is usually dry so I recommend you pour all the red chili-looking sauce into the stone pot and mix with the rest of the ingredients while they are still hot. I didn't and ended up with a bowl of dry rice, meat, and vegetables.

One thing that I find undesirable is the banchan. They only serve three types of pathetic looking banchan and worse, there's no kimchi and they don't provide refills automatically. :(

Galbitang

This is Beef Ribs Soup with chunks of beef ribs (obviously), Enoki mushroom, radish, dried red dates, vermicelli, and spring onions.

I have tasted better-tasting Galbitang before at Haeun Khon Korean Restaurant in Amcorp Mall, so I find this one rather bland and tasteless.

******************************

To be honest, I'm not sure if I'll come here again.

Next time, I'll rather sacrifice my time queuing up for my turn to dine at Menya Musashi (next to Gantetsu which is next to Won), the most crazed Japanese ramen restaurant in town at the moment.
