[Friday-22] The Proposal

This is the second movie of our movie combo night on Friday at Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara.

Here Comes The Bride...

The Proposal is a rom-com (romantic comedy) movie, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

I'm amazed with the storyline. Sandra Bullock as Margaret Tate is ruthless and she intimidates everybody in her office with her no-nonsense aura and personality. She's not young but she's single and you know how people tend to make fun of not-so-young yet single ladies by calling them names, e.g. witches? Ouch, that hurts.

Yes, this movie is all about love. Like it or not, love is still the timeless theme that touches people's heart anywhere, anytime.

People say, good things come when you least expect it. Love too. Believe it or not, two individual comes together and become lovers by chance AND by choice. I strongly believe in this. Chance brings two individuals to know each other, they may start of as mutual friends. Then, the choice can be made, whether to stay as friends or to venture into the boyfriend-girlfriend zone, and maybe even marriage.

At the end of the movie, Margaret tells Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) that she likes and chooses to stay single all these while because it's easier that way. After pausing for a couple of minutes, she says, "I'm scared." Andrew replies, "Me too." I believe this little exchange of conversation sums up the real dilemma in most single men and ladies out there, at least, it's true for me. :)

I love this movie. It makes me think about love in a serene and peaceful way. Watch it and find out for yourselves, you won't regret it.
