My recent fascination with Star Wars is the reason my boyfriend suggested "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" as our weekend movie after returning home from a fruitful visit to Grafitti Toys at Berjaya Times Square. :P
I've a good time "scavenging" through rows of Star Wars item, checking out droids, and of course, buying them. Hehehe.
Anyway, back to the movie. With my minimal knowledge of the proper Star Wars timeline and its characters, coupled with the fact that I've never watched any George Lucas' Star Wars live action movie, I don't face any trouble understanding this movie because there's no pre-conceived ideas of how a Star Wars movie would be like. :P
If you still remember, the story goes like this: As the Clone Wars sweep through the galaxy, the heroic Jedi Knights struggle to maintain order and restore peace. More and more systems are falling prey to the forces of the dark side as the Galactic Republic slips further and further under the sway of the Separatists and their never-ending droid army.
Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano find themselves on a mission with far-reaching consequences, one that brings them face-to-face with crime lord Jabba the Hutt. But Count Dooku and his sinister agents, including the nefarious Asajj Ventress, will stop at nothing to ensure that Anakin and Ahsoka fail at their quest. Meanwhile, on the front lines of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda lead the massive clone army in a valiant effort to resist the forces of the dark side...
I enjoyed watching this movie, mainly because I can watch a lot of droids in action, i.e. battle droids, super battle droids, dwarf spider droids, droidekas, R2-D2, Obi-Wan's R4-something, etc. Well, it's always great to share the same interest with a loved one. :)
