Oh no! I just realized that I didn't blog about Iron Man (2008)! Oh well. Finally, I watched Iron Man 2 (2010) albeit not doing so during the first week of its screening in Malaysia.
So, what's so hyped up about Iron Man 2, the superhero movie based on Marvel Comics? Well, it's Iron Man on the big screen again! What's more important than that? :)
I'm not a Marvel Comics fan, so I'm not familiar with the Marvel series of superheroes. Nevertheless, as long as you've watched the first movie, you just have to watch its sequel. :)
Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as the flamboyant and narcissistic Tony Stark aka Iron Man. Don Cheadle reprises his role as Lt. Colonel James Rhodes or Rhodey. He's the one who appears as War Machine.
In a nutshell, what is Iron Man 2 about? Here you go.
First, Tony Stark faces pressure from the military, the government, and the press concerning the technology of the Iron Man suit. To these concerned parties, the suit may pose as a threat to national security despite his success in bringing peace amongst major world powers. They demand him to hand-over the suit and of course, Tony Stark refuses to do so.
Second, Tony Stark faces the fate that his health condition is deteriorating rapidly. He has to accept the fact that he's paying a huge price while basking in his fame of being the Iron Man. Check out what pathetic things the Iron Man can do when he's in despair.
Third, Justin Hammer from Hammer Industries is really a pain in the ass. He's loud, annoying, and is an idiot. Good thing is, he's such a comic relief.
Fourth, Ivan Vanko the Russian-speaking villain is impressive! Holding his personal family vendetta against Stark and by manipulating Hammer's stupid ego and ambition, he's on his way to achieve his goals of murdering the Iron Man.
Fifth, Scarlett Johansson plays Natalie Rushman or Natasha Romanoff and I'd say this is the best part of the movie. She can really kick ass! Guys, check out her slick and sexy moves, especially when she's in combat mode. :)
That's it. I don't mind watching it again. :)
