DVD: Pulse 3: Invasion (2008)

You Can't Stop The Invasion

Pulse 3: Invasion (2008) is a sci-fi horror movie - the third release after Pulse (2006) and Pulse 2: Afterlife (2008).

Synopsis: It has been seven years into the invasion. Four-fifth of the world population has died from a deadly plague spread through the Internet. Survivors fled the cities and stay in refugee camps devoid of all kinds of technology, now a taboo.

Justine (Brittany Finamore) dreams of a life beyond the mundane refugee camp where she's staying with her foster parents. One day, she discovers an old laptop and someone named Adam (Rider Strong) is waiting for her online. He wants to meet her but she has to go into the city.

Fearful yet curious, Justine follows her guts to meet Adam. What awaits her in the city is beyond what she could have possibly imagined. It's up to her to make the choice to succumb or survive.

Here's a blunt review from the Internet: This movie is heavily panned for the screened shots and a story that makes no sense. I have to agree with it. The synopsis sounds promising because post-apocalyptic themes are always fascinating. However, if the storyline doesn't make sense, all you get is an unacceptably nonsensical movie.

Well, Pulse 3 couldn't seem to make up its mind to be a true sci-fi or supernatural horror movie. The dead comes back to terrorize the living via technological devices but the "science" behind this just doesn't seem to work.

Anyway, this is a straight-to-DVD release. Good for it to do so.
