Project: Reflect 52 #30-31 - A learning curve called gratitude

Moments of GRATITUDE come when you realize that you are given exactly what you need in every moment and that the BIGGER PICTURE is not what is right in front of you now, but WHAT IS TO COME.

- Life Begins -

A while ago, I mentioned about life begins at the end of your comfort zone. True that. Whether you like it or not, here's the reality: People change. People grow up. People pass through different stages in life. Some friends stay, some go. I don't mind that. It happens all the time. I have friends when I was in my comfort zone. When I made the decision to come out, I knew I will lose some of them. Bon voyage, that's all I want to say.

- Joy & Gratitude -

Recently, I'm learning a thing or two about gratitude. Turns out that it's a learning curve with its fair share of ups and downs.

It's hard to stay upbeat all the time whenever I face rejections or when things don't go my way. The 'old' me will go into self-sabotage mode and play the blame game. The 'new' me is now learning to be grateful by focusing on joyful things and be appreciative.

Why? Because joy and gratitude are inseparable.

Joy is an "emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires."

Gratitude is a "state of being appreciative of benefits received."

It's not easy, but why spend my energy sulking over negative things when I can visualize myself possessing things that make me happy? :)

- My Focuses of Joy -

So, what are some of my focuses of joy from the past two weeks?

It's as simple as buying a pair of yellow sneakers. Yellow makes me as happy as a lark. By the way, our wedding theme is also yellow. :)

It could be a bowl of my favorite pumpkin soup at Ceggo Taman Desa.

It could be meaningful rewards such as Kleenex products from Kleenex's Share the Softness blogger contest. I love the variety! :D

It could also be some cute stuff from my favorite icon, DiGi's Yellow Man.

Books! Buying books and reading them make me very happy too.

My new ageLOC cosmetics bag is so pretty that I couldn't stop hugging it! All my Galvanic Spa II machine, gels, and stuff can fit in it perfectly!

I will definitely continue to learn to be joyful and grateful every day. Joy and gratitude give me strength to achieve my dreams, no matter how big they are!
