Tub Dabar

Today's Catch

In 2 Chroni
cles 19:3a, "There is, however, some good in you,..." This verse was spoken by Jehu the prophet to King Jehoshaphat, the king who obeyed God totally during his early years and partially during his later years.

The English word "good" in the verse above is translated from the Hebrew phrase, Tub Dabar. This is a very rich phrase and the fact that it's translated into 85 different English equivalents throughout the entire Bible shows how marvelous this phrase is!

I'm impressed with the meaning of Dabar. Dabar is the intuitive divine revel
ation of God in us that is the same as what is in God's heart.

What do I learn today?

1. In your success, don't forget that it's God who gave it to you.

2. Never stifle the "Good of God" (tub dabar) on the inside of us. When we obey the Lord, we can hear Him accurately and won't make fraud decisions.

3. Partial obedience will cause us not to end well.

A verse that touches me as I muse upon His wor
d:

Ephesians 4:30, "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."

"Lord, thank You for Your speaking."
