Testimony: The Lord's Providence

When it's time to "cave-in" and be really, really alone, I love bookshops, i.e. Borders and MPH. It's here that I find salvation from "succumbing" to the online world of Blogging, Tweeting, and Facebooking. :P

Anyway, I just wanna share a little testimony with you regarding the Lord's providence.

25 December 2009, Friday, noon

I spent my whole afternoon at Borders, Tropicana City Mall. My favorite sections are: 1) Leadership 2) Business & Marketing 3) Management.
I spent quite a long time at the Leadership section, browsing through rows & rows of books on leadership. I was thinking about reading up more concerning being a leader and not just being a manager in relation to my current job scope.

Then, failing to get any book, or rather, I don't have the intuition to buy any book yet, I moved on to the Business & Marketing section, of which I saw a lot of books related to social media. Excited, I arranged a few books and snapped a photo, shown below.

What happened next is truly of the Lord's sovereign knowledge and providence, not what I ask for.

26 December 2009, Saturday, noon

Before attending
SIBKL's Season of the Year Musical 2009, I posted the following quote on my Twitter & Facebook.

It is far more comforting to think God listened and said no, than to think that nobody's out there ~ Have A Little Faith, Mitch Albom

27 December 2009, Sunday, noon

After church service, a church member passed Mitch Albom's "Have a Little Faith" to me because he saw my Facebook status. I was like, "OMG! Serious?" I'll return the book to him after I finish reading it.

My points are: When I saw the book at Borders, I didn't buy it. When I posted the quote, it didn't come across my mind that I'll have the chance to read the book, so fast! And now, I've the book in my hands...

Note: Mitch Albom's "Tuesdays with Morrie" is another great book. I believe "Have a Little Faith" will be a great book as well.

26 December 2009, Saturday, night

After attending the musical, when I was at home, I re-tweeted a quote from a famous leadership inspirational author/speaker, John C. Maxwell.

Blessed are those who can give without remembering and take without forgetting ~ Elizabeth Bibesco

27 December 2009, Sunday, noon

Also on the same Sunday afternoon, another church member gave me John C. Maxwell's "Developing the Leader Within You" as a Christmas gift. When I opened the box, my jaw dropped.

My points are: I gave up hope buying a leadership book last Friday, I somehow came across John C. Maxwell's tweet, an author whose writings I'm not so familiar with. And now, without knowing how the Lord know what I've been through, I've this book in my hands...

I'm not dramatizing things. I've a deep assurance that the Lord is a real Person in me. Whenever I cease all efforts and struggles to be or do something, He begins to work.

The concluding word of the musical: Is there more to life? Yes! With God, there's peace, power, and providence. The Lord has His way, depending on our growth in life, to let us experience Him as peace, power, providence, etc. It's so true.

In short, I'm still in the OMG mode.
