Movie: The Haunting in Connecticut

The Haunting in Connecticut is a 2009 psychological supernatural horror film based on the allegedly true story of a paranormal event in Connecticut. I watched this movie on DVD.

Read this article for a clearer view about its "based on a true story" allegation.

Here's the movie's synopsis: Based on a true story, The Haunting in Connecticut charts one family's real-life encounter with supernatural, dark forces.

When the Campbell family moved to upstate Connecticut, they soon learned that their charming Victorian home has a disturbing history: not only was the house a transformed funeral parlor where inconceivable acts occurred, but the owner's clairvoyant son Jonah served as a demonic messenger, providing a gateway for spiritual entities to crossover.

All hell broke loose when Jonah, the boy who could communicate with the dead returned to unleash horror on the innocent and unsuspecting family. Or, was he?

The Haunting in Connecticut is decently shot and rather watchable although it's neither shockingly awesome nor having a twist-ending. In fact, it's "educational" to some extent with references to how p
aranormal activities and experiences will look like - psychic medium, haunting, apparitions, visions, supernatural encounters, and occult activities (séances and necromancy).

The movie reaches its peak when the protagonist realizes the source of the terrifying haunting and tries to release the trapped evil spirits from the house.

Low budget, decent acting and special effects, interesting educational plots. Worth a watch.
