[Friday-10] Shinjuku Incident

Loyalty . Survival . Betrayal

Any movie with Chinese triads or Italian mafias or Japanese Yakuza as the main plot is always an entertaining show. Shinjuku Incident is one of them.

I don't really gain much from this movie. It's the usual "I'm loyal to you but when I need to survive, I'll betray you" kinda movie. However, it's comforting NOT to see Jackie Chan (as Steelhead or Tie Tou) fighting with choreographed action movements. I don't mean he's not good. I mean sometimes it's good to see him acting as a normal person.

About Daniel Wu (as Jie), he has given an impressive performance that earns my hatred. LOL. Towards the end of the movie, I pitied him. Violent guys are usually cowards and have low self-esteem. So, they use violence as a mask so that people will be afraid of them. Kesian. I think, guys should just be who they are. Be true to self, then, you can be true to others.

Xu Jing Lei (as Xiu Xiu or Yoko) and Fan Bing Bing (as Lily) were given limited appearances in the movie. Can't blame them. This movie is about guys pwning guys, I mean killing or mutilating each other. Haha.

Overall, it's an entertaining show.
