Road trip 3: Awesome KT-KB snack

Let me show you some of Terengganu's best delicacies from my previous blog posts.

Now, I have more food photos to share with you.

Laksa (with white gravy)

Laksa (with white gravy) is slightly different from its red "cousin". Its ingredients are similar to laksam (laksang), even its gravy.

Roti Paun (Paung) Inti Ikan

Roti paun (paung) is usually sold as buttery round bread without inti (fillings). This particular one has spicy fish fillings!

Break a mound of soft, fluffy bread into two and take a look at those yummy flaky fish fillings!

Sotong Goreng (Fried Squid)

We had this for late afternoon snack at one of those beach stalls along Pantai Bukit Chalok, Kuala Terengganu. Look at the size of that giant squid!

The poor giant squid was "hacked" into pieces before it was eaten! :P

It was quite an exquisite experience - munching fried squid strips, sipping fresh young coconut juice, and enjoying late noon sea breeze. Carefree!

These are an assortment of snacks from Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu. The longish bread rolls are also a type of plain roti paun without fillings. The rest of the stuff are pulut lepa, steamed popiah, steamed ubi kayu, etc.

This one should be one of Kota Bharu's snack - black glutinous rice (pulut hitam) with peanut fillings.
